Sehe ich keinen Grund für.

Dafür gibt es /compat/linux/etc/resolv.conf usw.

Auf das »ndots« Feature kann ich in einigen Umgebungen
unmöglich verzichten. Speziell brauche ich zuweilen in
einigen Subdomains »ndots:2«.

Beispiel: Ich bin auf smorebrod.rz.tu-clausthal.de und
will ein ping zu guglhupf.ma.tu-clausthal.de machen.
Da tippe ich (und jeder andere User macht es genauso)
einfach »ping guglhupf.ma« und erwarte, daß er dabei
nicht erst einen Lookup in Marokko macht. »ndots:2«
sorgt dafür.
