Auf einem älteren Pentium kann das schonmal ein Stündchen
werden. Auf meinem Pentium-III Notebook sind es so zwei
bis drei Minuten (ohne Module). Auf einer modernen, gut
getuneten Kiste mit > 2 GHz und SCSI-Platte ist es in we-
niger als einer Minute möglich.

Kommt drauf an, wie schnell die beiden beteiligten Rechner
sind, wie schnell die Netzverbindung dazwischen ist, wel-
chen Cipher man verwendet, ob Kompression eingeschaltet
ist, usw. usf.

Falls es ganz am Anfang beim Verbindungsaufbau etwas dau-
ert, könnte das vielleicht daran liegen, daß DNS (Name-
service) nicht richtig funktioniert und es einen Timeout
gibt. Oder auch ein ident-Timeout, aber ich weiß jetzt
aus dem Kopf nicht, ob ssh per Default überhaupt ident-
Anfragen macht (und da ich schon halb am Schlafen bin,
schaue ich jetzt auch nicht nach).

Kurz und gut: Nein, eigentlich ist es nicht normal, daß
ssh langsamer als normal ist. ;-)
