Nö, vom syslogd, steht doch da. Wenn Du die Logfiles ent-
sorgst, solltest Du sie auch in /etc/syslog.conf entfernen
oder auskommentieren.

Für newsyslog ist /etc/newsyslog.conf zuständig. Wie der
reagiert, wenn es ein Logfile nicht gibt, weiß ich nicht;
vermutlich tut er einfach gar nichts. Aber dort solltest
Du dann die zugehörigen Zeilen auch auskommentieren.
