kernel panics

Moin,

nachdem ich vor einiger Zeit unter 2.2.7 mein Board getauscht hatte
(neues DFI P5BV3+), wollte ich diesen Rechner nun per Neuinstallation
auf 3.1 umstellen.
Mir ist bereits nach dem Boardwechsel unter dem alten System die Port-
installation von apsfilter einmal mit kernel-panic abgeschmiert. Hab
zu dem Zeitpunkt jedoch nicht schnell genug reagiert, um die Fehler-
meldung abzuschreiben. Nach Neustart der Portinstallation lief es dann
aber durch.

Bei der Neuinstallation von 3.1 ist mir dann waehrend des Einspielens
der ports-collection das System mit kernel panic: page fault abgeraucht.
Ich habe dann nochmal neu eine Minimalinstallation vorgenommen und dann
per sysinstall versucht die ports-colletion zu installieren.

Das Ergebnis war folgender kernel panic:

mode = 040, inum = 127238,fs = /usr
panic : ffs_valloc : dup alloc
syncing disks ...

Nach Neustart und manuellem fsck (die obige INode wurde als 'PARTIALLY
ALLOCATED' gemeldet) hab ich dann /usr/ports geloescht und sysinstall
nochmal gestartet. Die Installation der ports collection lief dann
erfolgreich durch.

Die Installation weiterer distribution sets brach dann mit einer 'Broken
pipe' ab. Als ich dann rebooten wollte, bekam ich folgendes:

Nach erneutem reboot hab ich dann die distribution sets nochmal einzeln
ausgewaehlt und so erfolgreich installieren koennen.

Es bleibt da natuerlich das ungute Gefuehl, dass da maechtig was faul
ist. Ich hab erst mal im BIOS die 'Fail Save Settings' geladen, die Kabel-
verbindungen der IDE-Platten gecheckt (die Kabel auch mal ausgetauscht).
Ich hab auch per DOSe auf den Platten gewerkelt und keine Fehler bekommen.

Insgesamt aendert sich jedoch nichts. Bei mehreren Installtionsversuchen
konnte ich auf dieser Maschine diese Fehler reproduzieren.

Kann mir hier jemand weiterhelfen, an welcher 'Ecke' es da klemmt.
Irgendwie ist dieses System 'weich' (und ich werd's langsam auch ;-) ).
