Tapes mountet man nicht. Ich backuppe mit dump, prinzipiell:
   dump 0uf /dev/nrst0 <partition>
(Das macht einen Level-0-dump auf st0, ohne das band danach
automatisch zurückzuspulen, und updatet /etc/dumpdates.
Siehe auch "man dump".) Du kannst auch ein High-Level-Tool
wie z.B. Amanda benutzen (das greift intern auf dump zurück).

Du kannst auch tar nehmen (hat Vor- und Nachteile) oder cpio,
oder mit dd "nackte" Files und Devices direkt auf das Tape
schreiben.
