Das hat nichts mit irgendwelchen (BSD- oder nicht-BSD-)
Systemen zu tun, sondern ist UTF8-codierter ISO10646 bzw.
Unicode. Kannst Du z.B. mit "recode utf8..latin1" nach
ISO8859-1 a.k.a. Latin-1 umwandeln (in ports/converters).
