Auf was sind die Logging-Einstellungen bei Dir gesetzt?

Das kommt von einem (fehlerhaft konfigurierten) updatedb
für die locate-Database. Das sollte nicht das geringste
mit ppp zu tun haben.

Wenn man das ppp-Logging hinreichend hochschraubt, wird
man dort mit ziemlicher Wahrscheinlichkeit etwas erkennen
können.
