AVR und FreeBSD

Hallo,
ich hab mir einen Starterkit(stk200) von AVR zugelegt sowie einen
at90s2313 Mikrocontroller, und den neuesten AVR-GCC aus den Ports
installiert. Danach die Beispielprogramme (gcctest1-9) bei
avrfreaks.net(ich glaub zumindest von da) heruntergeladen, um sie
zu testen. Leider komme ich mit dem UART nicht weiter:

Das C-Programm hänge ich an.
Normalerweise sollte es mit 9600 Baud, 8bit, 1stopbit, no parity
laufen.

Die anderen Beispielprogramme funktionierten (solange sie nicht
den UART benutzen.)
