Hochinteressant. Kann eigentlich nicht sein.

Bist Du sicher, daß Dein Kernel und Dein Userland (insbe-
sondere das vidcontrol-Binary) »in sync« sind, d.h. genau
von der gleichen FreeBSD-Version sind?

Ansonsten fallen mir nur noch absurde Dinge als Fehler-
ursache ein, z.B. daß der Device-node /dev/ttyv1 nicht kor-
rekt ist.

Bei mir funktioniert »vidcontrol show < /dev/ttyv1« ein-
wandfrei (4.6-Prerelease).
