Das stimmt so nur teilweise.

Das tmpfs von Linux ist dem (sehr viel älteren) tmpfs von
SunOS abgekupfert und ähnelt diesem deutlich mehr als dem
MFS von FreeBSD. Es ist _nicht_ UFS-basiert, sondern spe-
ziell auf den Job als memory-based filesystem zugeschnit-
ten. Die Implementation von Linux ist sogar (IMO) besser
als die von SunOS, da man dort die (leider immer noch sta-
tische) Anzahl der inodes selbst vorgeben kann.
