Was Du beschreibst, ist exakt ein (Reverse-)Proxy.

Mit socket oder netcat würde das eher schwierig werde, be-
sonders wenn auch so Dinge wie Keep-alive funktionieren
sollen.

Was spräche dagegen, daß Du einen stinknormalen Proxy ver-
wendest? Zum Beispiel den Apache mit mod_proxy, dann in
der Config die Zeilen

   ProxyPass / http://Dein.interner.Server/
   ProxyPassReverse / http://Dein.interner.Server/

und gut is'.
