Moin,
wenn Du nicht spezielleres als Hard- und Softlinks hast, tut es noch tar in
der Form der berüchtigten tarpipe. Vorgehensweise:

cd <srcdir>
tar cfp - . | ( cd <destdir>; tar xfp - )

PS: Ja, ich kenne tar -C. Und jede Menge tar-Versionen, die das nicht
kennen.
