Problem bei freeBSD4.1 installation von CD (SCSI devices werden nicht gefunden)

hi,

ich habe vor 2 Tagen zu testzwecken openBSD installiert (ohne grössere
Probleme).
doch bei der Installation von freeBSD4.1 von CD habe ich folgendes
Problem:

nachdem ich "Skip kernel configuration and continue with installation"
gewählt habe bootet er erst mal normal. Bei den SCSI devices stoppt er dann mit
folgenden Meldungen:

....
Waiting 15 seconds for SCSI devices to settle..
(probe 15:aic0:0:0:0): ccb 0x0d4fc00 - timed out, phase 0x0, state 1
(probe 15:aic0:0:0:0): ccb 0x0d4fc00 - timed out, phase 0x0, state 1
...
(probe 15:aic0:0:0:0): ccb 0x0d4fc00 - timed out, phase 0x0, state 1
(probe 16:aic0:0:1:0): ccb 0x0d4f000 - timed out, phase 0x0, state 1
...
(probe 16:aic0:0:1:0): ccb 0x0d4f000 - timed out, phase 0x0, state 1
(probe 17:aic0:0:2:0): ccb 0x0d50400 - timed out, phase 0x0, state 1
...
usw. usw.....(habe es 15 min laufen lassen)

meine kiste beherbergt eine "IBM DDRS-34560D Ultra2-SE" und ein"Pioneer
CD-ROM DR-U16S" an einem Adaptec-2940U2W.

Wieso findet er diese doch eigentlich recht gut unterstütze Hardware
nicht?
