Ich weiß nicht, welche Probleme du so mit deinen Manpages
auszustehen hast ;-) Aber hier auf einem 4.8-Release steht es
drin:

        speed s
                     Set the highest speed that the drive should use for
                     reading data. The units are multiples of a single
                     speed CDROM (150 KB/s). Specify ``max'' to use the
                     drive's fastest speed.

Naja, in der Manpage steht so einiges drin, da übersieht man daher
gerne mal was.
