The story is very simple - RedHat, SuSe are companies selling Linux
based products in the same way as Microsoft and Co sell their Software
products.
You can find Apple with their BSD based product MacOS-X.
It's a difference if a vendor gets back the money spend on such a show
by selling more of their products or if it's just wasting money because
your are giving away your product for free.
