Der OP hat einen Mobile Athlon, also wohl eine Notebook,
und ich wüßte von keinem der einen von fvcool unterstütz-
ten (Desktop-) Chipsatz hat. Ich habe hier das gleiche
Problem wie antic_eye auf einem HP nx9005 (Athlon XP-M).

AFAIK unterstützt FreeBSD noch kein PowerNow, allerdings
kam neulich Support für Intels SpeedStep hinzu.

Was allerdings funktionieren könnte: ACPI throttling; was
aber auch entsprechenden BIOS-Support benötigt.

»sysctl hw.acpi« sollte anzeigen ob throttling unterstützt
wird.
