Problem mit USB Tastatur

Hallo zusammen,

ich möchte eine USB Tastatur an meiner FreeBSD 4.8-p13 Maschine
betreiben. Genauer gesagt handelt es sich um eine Cherry PS/2 Tastatur,
die an einem KVM Switch hängt, welcher mittels USB an den Rechner
angeschlossen ist. Soweit, sogut. Während des Bootvorganges wird der
KVM Switch auch erkannt sowie die angeschlossene Tastatur:

Nur leider wird die Tastatur als kbd1 angesprochen, so als gäbe es noch
eine andere (PS/2-)Tastatur. Und genau nach der sucht das System dann
auch kurze Zeit später:

Um die Tastatur benutzen zu können, muß ich mich also per ssh einloggen
und folgende Zeile ausführen:

kbdcontrol -k /dev/kbd1 < /dev/console

Um dies dauerhaft zu vermeiden, habe ich im Usenet den Tipp gefunden,
in die /boot/loader.conf folgende Zeile einzutragen:

hint.atkbd.0.disabled="1"

Dies habe ich auch gemacht. Leider hat dies keinen für mich wahrnehmbaren
Effekt, die Zählung ist immer noch falsch.

Wie läßt sich dieses Problem lösen?
