X / Radeon 7000 / Failed to load module "fb"

Hallo,

ich bin neu auf der Liste und neu bei FreeBSD (wenn auch nicht bei UNIX),
hoffe aber es ist OK, gleich mit einer Frage reinzuplatzen:

Nachdem ich mir ein XFree86 4.3.0 gebacken und configuriert habe, hab'
ich sowohl mit

  startx

als auch mit

  export DISPLAY=:0
  X&

erfolglos versucht X zu starten und dabei folgende Meldungen bekommen:

In der /etc/X11/XF86Config in der Section "Module" findet sich
allerdings kein

  Load "fb"

Meine Fragen:

Wieso versucht X überhaupt dieses Modul zu laden?

Wie kann ich dieses Modul nachinstallieren?

Oder liegt das Problem wo anders?

Weder im Mailinglistenarchiv noch bei Google oder ATI hab ich was dazu
gefunden.
