restore und Erkennung der Blockgroesse

Hi,
eigenlich soll restore ja die auf einem Band verwendete Bloeckgroesse
selber erkennen, wenn man sie nicht per -b <irgendwas> angibt. Das
funktioniert hier (FreeBSD 4.7-STABLE, ca. 3 Wochen alt) allerdings
nicht. Wenn ich ein Filesystem per
dump 0abuf 64 /dev/nsa0 /file/system
auf das Band schiebe, fuehrt nach einem rewind ein
retore -if /dev/nsa0
nur zur lapidaren Meldung 'read error'. Erst nach einem nochmaligen
rewind und einem
retore -ibf 32 /dev/nsa0
komme ich an meine Daten.

Ist das 'normal'?

PS: Achja, kann jemand eine gute Blockgröße für ein DLT7000 empfehlen?
