du brauchst folgende Sachen:

j2sdk-1_3_1_04-linux-i586.bin

http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/download.html

j2sdk-1_3_1-src.tar.gz

http://wwws.sun.com/software/java2/download.html

bsd-jdk131-patches-7.tar.gz

http://www.eyesbeyond.com/freebsddom/java/jdk13.html

die Files packst Du nach /usr/ports/distfiles, anschliessend nach
/usr/ports/java/jdk13 wechseln und make install clean.

Jetzt sollte Java gehen.
