Update von 3.4-STABLE auf -STABLE

Hier steht eine Box, die ich von 3.4 STABLE auf 4.4-PRERELEASE updaten will.
Ein cvsup ging ohne Probleme durch.
In /usr/src kommt bei einem make buildworld nach sehr kurzer Zeit
(in "stage 1 bootstrap tools"):

cd /usr/src/usr.bin/xinstall; make _EXTRADEPEND
echo xinstall: /usr/obj/usr/src/i386/usr/lib/libc.a >> .depend
cc -O -pipe -I/usr/obj/usr/src/i386/usr/include -c /usr/src/usr.bin/xinstall/xinstall.c
cc -O -pipe -I/usr/obj/usr/src/i386/usr/include -static -o xinstall xinstall.o
xinstall.o: In function `main':
xinstall.o(.text+0x180): undefined reference to `strtofflags'
*** Error code 1

...

Das war es dann :(
Ich habe auf der Webseite, bei Google (+Usenet) und /usr/src/UPDATING nach
einer Loesung gesucht aber nicht gefunden.
Gibt es eine allg. Seite zu dem Thema und eine spezielle Lsg ?
