Bist Du sicher, daß genau diese xmodmap auch aktiv ist?
Hast Du die XKBD-Extension auch abgeschaltet? (xdpyinfo
listet Dir die Extensions auf. Außerdem erzählt es Dir
XFree86 beim Starten.)

Ich kann nur sagen, daß es bei mir funktioniert.
Ich wüßte nicht, was sonst noch notwendig wäre.
