Ja. Aber nur, wenn Du stattdessen pcvt im Kernel hast. ;-)

Im Ernst: einen console driver brauchst Du schon für X11. Das
mindeste wäre ein pccons, aber ob Du den alten Code noch auf einem
aktuellen FreeBSD sinnvoll compiliert bekommst, wage ich zu
bezweifeln.
