This is the the homepage for the Open Networks 99 conference. Open
Networks 99 is arranged by DKUUG and SSLUG as a three day conference
on April 30th, May 1st and 2nd 1999.

The conference is about networks and open systems, like Linux and
FreeBSD.

The conference language is mainly Danish and Sweedish, except from
some guest speakers who speak English.

We proudly present the leader of the KDE project, Kalle Dalheimer,
as well as the leader of the GNOME project, Miguel de Icaza, as
speakers at the conference. GNOME and KDE are the two main desktop
environments for the Linux operating system and other UNIX systems.

As keynote speakers we also have:

        Poul-Henning Kamp, FreeBSD core member
        Jes Sørensen, Cern
and
        Brian Eberhardt, SuperUsers.

Friday 30. April will contain a Linux and FreeBSD install party as
well as oral presentations, mainly for the newcomers in the UNIX
world.

Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd May, the conference will run in 2
parallel tracks. One is for beginners and the other is more advanced.
Some of the subjects covered will be:

        Local Area Networks
        Security
        Mail Systems
        Web Service
        Performance
Case Stories - Linux in the real world

Poul-Henning Kamp will fill a 2.5 hour (!) timeslot about FreeBSD
as best he can Saturday evening.
