hi,
nachdem ich mein backup (auf dds3) jetzt mit gtar erledige - oder es
zumindest versuche - bekomme ich von gtar folgende fehlermeldung:

gtar: /dev/sa0: Cannot read: Input/output error
gtar: /dev/sa0: Cannot read: Operation not permitted
gtar: /dev/sa0: Cannot read: Operation not permitted
gtar: /dev/sa0: Cannot read: Operation not permitted

gtar: /dev/sa0: Cannot read: Operation not permitted
gtar: /dev/sa0: Cannot read: Operation not permitted
gtar: /dev/sa0: Cannot read: Operation not permitted
gtar: Too many errors, quitting
gtar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

in dmesg steht:

sym0:3:control msgout: 80 6.
(noperiph:sym0:0:-1:-1): SCSI BUS reset detected.
(sa0:sym0:0:3:0): WRITE FILEMARKS. CDB: 10 0 0 0 2 0
(sa0:sym0:0:3:0): UNIT ATTENTION asc:29,0
(sa0:sym0:0:3:0): Power on, reset, or bus device reset occurred
(sa0:sym0:0:3:0): failed to write terminating filemark(s)
(sa0:sym0:0:3:0): 16384-byte tape record bigger than suplied buffer

mein gtar aufruf ist:
gtar -cf /dev/sa0 --verify --atime-preserve --preserve-permissions
--files-from=/root/backuplist

lasse ich das verify weg, läuft alles gut durch.

habt ihr einen tip?
danke im voraus.
cheerio,
thomas
