Wenn der core-dump von install stammt, dann hatte ich bereits das selbe
Problem. Versuch einfach:

$ cd /usr/src/usr.bin/xinstall
$ cc -o install xinstall.c
$ mv install /usr/bin/install

und starte buildworld bzw. installworld.
