atacontrol mit ioctl Fehlermeldung

Hallo,

ich habe unter FreeBSD 5.1 ein Problem mit einer Platte. Sie scheint Probleme mit dem UDMA Modus zu haben.
Ich wollte die Platte deswegen im PIO Modus betreiben. Dazu wollte ich atacontrol verwenden.
Doch leider scheint atacontrol nicht zu funktionieren.
Wenn ich atacontrol aufrufe, erhalte ich entweder eine Fehlermeldung (s.u.) oder gar kein Ergebnis.

Fehlermeldung von atacontrol:

# atacontrol mode 0
atacontrol: ioctl(ATAGMODE): Inappropriate ioctl for device
# atacontrol list
atacontrol: ioctl(ATAGMAXCHANNEL): Inappropriate ioctl for device

Was mache ich falsch?
