Modem-Dialup Verbinding

Hmm. Irgendwie bekomme ich meine Dialup-Verbindung nicht zum laufen.
Unter Linux ging es problemlos. Unter FBSD reagiert das modem
offensichtlich nicht bei ppp. echo "ATDT1234" >/dev/cuaa0
macht auch nix...
Irgendwelche Vorschläge?
