Das hat nicht so viel miteinander zu tun. Was der Marco wohl meinte,
ist etwas in der Art von "M-x byte-compile-file RET ~/.emacs.el RET"

Wozu das gut ist, sagt Dir in Kürze "C-h f byte-compile-file
RET". Mehr Informationen, warum Byte Code besser ist als Lisp Code,
sollte die Emacsdokumentation verraten: C-h i m emacs RET.
